Iran moves three places up in FIFA Rankings

altIran moved three places up in the latest FIFA rankings released on Wednesday.

In the world rankings, Iran moved up to 50th with 576 points. 

However, the Persians have stayed at fourth place among the Asian teams. Japan leads the rankings among the Asian teams with 924 points followed by Australia (882) and South Korea (749).

Spain returned to the top of the rankings only one month after being knocked by the Netherlands from the first place.

Five-time world champion Brazil (7th, 1132 points) has fallen to an 18-year low.

The high level of movement in this latest edition is the result of 170 'A' international matches, of which 109 were FIFA World Cup or continental qualifiers and 61 were friendlies, according to FIFA. 

Top ten teams are: 1. Spain 1605 points; 2. Holland 1571pts; 3. Germany 1290; 4. Uruguay 1184, 5. Portugal 1158; 6. Italy 1142; 7. Brazil 1132; 8. England 1089; 9. Croatia 1057; 10. Argentina 1024.
